2025 US Non-Farm Payrolls release calendar

US nonfarm payrolls (NFP) are a key driver of precious-metals volatility. This calendar of 2025 release times is for reference only.

I. What NFP includes

Published monthly by the BLS, NFP covers payrolls, the employment rate and unemployment — a barometer of the US economy.

(1) Payroll change: net jobs added or lost outside agriculture.

(2) Employment rate: employed as a share of the labour force.

(3) Unemployment rate: those without a job who are actively looking.

II. 2025 timing

Usually the first Friday of the month: Beijing 20:30 in daylight time (Apr–Oct) and 21:30 in standard time (Nov–Mar).

III. Effect on gold

Compare previous, forecast and actual prints. Weaker-than-expected data often weighs on the dollar and supports gold; stronger data often supports the dollar and pressures gold. Official BLS timing prevails if delayed.
